We all know the childrens’ fable. As children, we are told the morale of the story is to not cause alarm unduly. As an adult, we quickly realize that we want our children to alert us to everything, and the real failure was the adults who ignored the boy. Perhaps we should have been taught the adult perspective when we were young.
